Basic Self Assessment Pre-Entry Examination

All students seeking to enter the UNBC English Language Studies (ELS) program must have basic knowledge of the English Language before applying.  The ELS program accepts students starting at an upper beginner English proficiency level.  Please complete the following self assessment pre-entry examination to see if you are at the correct level.  If you score less than 16 / 20 (80%) on this test, you may not be accepted into the ELS programs.

Students will be given a second placement examination when they arrive at the University of Northern British Columbia to confirm their basic English knowledge.  If the student performs below the required self assessment pre-entry examination, the student may not be accepted into the program.
